Standard Grade Chemistry Homework Policy
 
  • Homework is issued on a weekly basis. The exercises are taken from the text book and topic question booklets. They cover the current work in class.

 

  • This homework is marked using a variety of methods e.g. peer marking and marking less means more.

 

  • In addition past paper questions are issued for homework as revision.

 

  • This is marked in class with the teacher sharing the SQA marking scheme.

 

  • Students are given a target each week to revise current work. They must produce evidence in the form of a mind map or summary note and redo worked examples on calculations.
 
 
Higher Chemistry Homework Policy
 
  • Homework is issued from 2 text books, one covers multiple choice type questions and the other is a revision book.

 

  • The homework issued is based on current work and revision of previous topics.

 

  • In addition past paper questions are issued for homework as revision.

 

  • This is marked in class with the teacher sharing the SQA marking scheme.

 

  • 5 challenging questions are issued twice a week.

 

  • These are marked using a variety of methods e.g. peer marking with teacher sharing the marking scheme and marking less means more.

 

  • In addition students are issued a target to complete over two weeks which involves revising a topic and completing questions on it.
