ROTHESAY ACADEMY PRINCES TRUST XL GROUP
XL is a network of clubs running in schools all over the U.K and helps to re-engage young people with education. It is a team-based programme of personal development. It supports 14-16 year olds through their last two years of compulsory education and young people can choose to take part as an alternative to GCSE subject or Standard Grade course. The club is run for three periods per week during school time, and guided by XL advisors, club members are encouraged to work together to achieve goals relating to their education, training and future lives.
XL clubs work towards The Princes Trust XL Award accredited by ASDAN, which recognises young people’s development of a ”Wider Key Skills” of Problem Solving, Working With Others and Improving own Learning, as well as recognising achievement in five key areas including citizenship and entrepreneurship.
